The Project: Exploring Color, Texture and Form in Art and Music

◦ A series of creative projects for students and community members
◦ Animated movies exploring different shades of color
◦ Music compositions and improvisation sessions exploring musical tone-colors
◦ Personal projects based on color, timbre, feeling and experience
◦ Exploring the ways that color and timbre affect our emotions, and how we perceive them through hearing and sight

Walden’s art, music and classroom teachers are excited to be planning this collaborative curriculum project with Rica Anderson of the Cal Performances Education Department, and Dr. Harry Green of UC Berkeley’s Optometry department. We look forward to strengthening our ties to the university, and to the benefits this will bring to our students and their families. With the support of this grant, we endeavor to raise awareness within our community of university resources such as Cal Performances educational programs, collections in the University Art Museum, and the expertise of Dr. Harry Green and his colleagues in the department of Optometry.
